This past year has taught me a lot of things:
* Family is everything
* The love of your mom is like no other. It has no bounds. It is never enough time. You will always have regrets, but your mom wouldn’t want you to have them.
* Closure is needed and sometimes it takes a long time to happen.
* Being content at home is critical for life and well-being.
* Find a partner in life that can along your side during adventures and doing absolutely nothing.
* Growing up with 3 channels definitely doesn’t prepare you for all the OnDemand channels (Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, HBO-GO) and still not having anything to watch.
* Kids are adaptable and can get through pretty much anything.
* Listen to your kids and let them navigate you. They do know what is best for themselves.
* Never take traveling for granted and how much it is an integral part of life.
* Life goes by really quickly.
* Friends come and go.
* Old friends will come back into your life.
* Friends you thought were close, weren’t so close after all.
* And some friends you don’t speak with often, mean the world to you.
* Don’t be disappointed when friends are wrapped up in their own life and drama. If they can’t make time for you, they aren’t worth your time.
* Same goes for family. Some so called family members aren’t worthy of being family. You are better off.
* Prioritize yourself. If you have something you need to do, do it sooner than later.
* Work out and eat right. It can make your mind and soul feel better.
* You are never too old to learn something.
* Change can be a good thing.
* Take a deep breath when you need it.
* Crying is ok. In front of people and all alone.
* Believe in your dreams. They will let you feel a long-lost loved one.
* Remember not to take life too seriously.
* Laugh as much as you can.
* Age is just a number.
* One bad day won’t last.
* Tomorrow is another day.
* Be kind. Being mean to others is beneath you.
* Be you! You are the only one there is.
