It has been a week already since I launched Herstories. I am so appreciative of all the positive feedback and support I have been given by friends, family, and colleagues across the world.
What have I have learned in this past week?
Starting your own podcast isn't the easiest thing. There are so many moving parts and there is a lot going on behind the scenes.
There is a real need to share inspiring 'real women' stories.
I will never be a website designer or video editor.
Planning ahead and being organized is key -- it is key for most things in life but especially with developing content. (content calendars are your friend)
Don't say episode numbers. You might change your mind on the order of your podcast.
Don't get too frustrated. If you don't know something check out Google or YouTube. You will also find an answer.
Learn what you like and don't like. Just because you started one way, doesn't mean you can't change what you are doing and try it another way.
Take feedback. EVERYONE has an opinion. Some aren't the nicest of comments (Do they know you are new at doing this?) but within the comment there is also something you can learn.
And MOST importantly. HAVE FUN! I started this because I have a passion for talking with people, being a storyteller's storyteller. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Now time for me to get the 2nd episode of Herstories out! Hope you enjoy it! And as always please give me your feedback, suggestions, and let me know if YOU are interested in coming on my podcast.
